I have had Rocket since April, so our house is completely puppy proof. However, it took a lot of preparation before we got Rocket to make it that way. The podcast made by petliferadio.com gives some really good tips on how to bring a puppy home and make him comfortable. There were two things that really stuck out to me as being important. One thing you need to do is to know what type of food the puppy was eating before you take him home. You need to make sure you have the same type of food so that it makes the transition easier. The second thing is to make sure you have a crate ready for him before he gets home. The women on the podcast tell us that having a crate for a puppy is like having a play pen for a baby. It's not a jail cell, it's a play place where they are safe.
